Aberlink's Horizon CMM breaks new ground in design and innovation using frictionless linear drives, which are the key to its fast and exceptionally smooth motion. Linear motors are non-contact and therefore have no wearing parts, improving reliability and reducing maintenance.
The kinematic isolated drive structure is completely independent of the CMM structure and ensures that the motor thrust is directed through the centre of gravity of the moving parts. This not only avoids acceleration induced metrology errors but also has the effect of thermally isolating the motors from the metrology structure of the CMM.
The Horizon's fast, smooth, silent motion is ideally suited to contact scanning and boasts a first-term accuracy specification of under two microns.
Making measurement easy - every Aberlink CMM is supplied with the industry standard Aberlink 3D measurement software. World renowned for its easy-to-use, yet powerful interface, Aberlink is the only leading CMM manufacturer to offer zero-cost annual software maintenance contracts or subscriptions and free software updates, including all major releases. This means cost of ownership is very low and ensuring rapid ROI.
Every Aberlink bridge-type CMM supports the range of Renishaw probe heads (both touch trigger and scanning probes) and, to meet changing customer requirements, Atkinson Gauge & Tool can also supply additional styli or modules from the full available range. Get in touch to find out more.
